At Gibson Jewelers, we understand the emotional attachment to jewelry. Whether gifted, inherited or purchased as a treat to yourself, each piece of jewelry in your collection has a story.
In addition to sentimental value, it also has monetary value. Whether you are looking for insurance purposes, wanting to determine what the current value of an older piece may be, or looking to sell unwanted pieces, an accurate appraisal will help you.
Our GIA certified expert jewelers at Gibson will carefully inspect your watches, jewelry, diamonds and gemstones to help determine an accurate value. Be sure to bring along any and all documents you may have such as sales receipts, diamond grading reports and or any warranties.
We will evaluate each piece based on the following:
- Current retail value.
- Brand name, identifying serial numbers or makers marks on diamonds.
- Gold weight and or percentage of platinum.
- Type of metal used for prongs and mountings.
- Quality of 4 C’s (cut, color, clarity, carat weight) of diamonds and gemstones.
You will receive a written report of each piece submitted for appraisal detailing the value and specifics of what the value was based on.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions on what to bring to your appraisal.
